needs more bass

It's a good concept, but i get the feeling its far from finished. i feel there's some sound missing, and your bass needs more power aswell.

it's a great WIP though, i'll check for newer versions of this, as the original is one of my big favs ;)

Blizzaine responds:

What kind of headphones are you using? The high bass is wimpy. But the sub makes up for it. Unless you're using some good headphones or sound system, the bass might seem less powerful.

very nice!

song's very nice, I enjoyed the drop and your main bassline. Imo the drums could be abit harder in the intro , no need to hide that fat snare you bring in at the drop ;)
I'd add a couple of atmospheric effects aswell , random sound samples that fit in well always do the trick when I'm producing.

Check out my page from some dubstep aswell

DrumBug responds:

I'll be sure to have a look :)
Thanks for the review, and i'll use your advice actually...
though, if i had harder drums in the intro... then nthe drop wouldn't have much of an impact ;)
thanks for the support.

nice minimalism

I love dubstep like this, some nice minimalism , you just need to lay back and let it hit you. GJ on that.
Points of criticism:
-the snare needs some more work, it's too plain at this point, a bit more reverb would do wonders I think.
-Get a longer version, it's such a shame songs like this only last for 1.37 :)

Check out my tunes if you like dubstep man ;)

peace out,

major stuff

serious business man, this tune rocked my morning for sure ;)
love the way it builds up, imo the vocal could be abit louder, it would add that final touch to the drop ;)

The real thing

Very refreshing dubstep, there's nothing to add to this but to say that you did an awesome job.

mixed

well yeah i got some mixed feelings about the song

first of all, i LOVED the intro. you got me in some state of trance, i was expecting something BIIIIG to follow
then when your lead kicked in, i kinda lost my trance.. the sound of your bass is good, but the melody doesn't blend into your background melody, I think you need a different melody for your lead bass.

another point is that your kickdrum gives noise on my monitors, I'm guessing you overdid some bass boost or just the volume ;)

Anyway I think this song has loads of potential, it just needs a finishing touch.

a good start

I think you're off to a good start of a dubstep song, but your bass needs alot more power, as it being a reese I think it shouldn't be that hard of a job to add some extra dirtiness. Also I think the kick should stand out more / be more punchy , so it really gets the listener going.
As I said it's a good start, the melody is good but it needs work ;)
goodluck!

Breed responds:

Thanks for the review mate, and ya this thing needs lots of work! Unfortunately I am limited to using a very very slow laptop nicknamed "Craptop." It couldn't handle anymore so I gave up and produced the final piece as is. Once the studio is fully up and running expect MUCH higher quality audio. Cheers!

Pretty damn nice!

Yeah i'm well feeling this beat, nice pounding kicks and snares with a strong bass, the melody of your bass sounds abit out of tune at some parts, you might be doing this on purpose or it may just be a small error ;-)
Also try following your bassline with your drums, as it sounds now it's like you're using only 1 drum pattern. Slower parts need a more flowing drumtracks!

Still overall a goodjob i enjoyed listening to this !

Sounds great!

I think the drums are abit loud, they could be a tad softer on the volume, but the rest of the song is great, you got a great ear for melody + atmosphere imo.

One more point of crit perhaps, when your final drop is there, your lower and lead bass don't seem to be in harmony, often overlapping in LFO rate ? Well I just think you could make your sub come from a high LFO rate and then make it match to the LFO rate of your lead bass for a short period. just an idea ;)

anyway respect for the track

yeah i know what you mean about the bass synths at the end, the problem was that one of them that i was using bad a kind of.. backfiring effect where itd make a sound before and after the wobble, so they were actually doing the same thing it just sounded kinda odd. i do agree with everything you've said tho, thanks for the review man!

wicked

some fuckin wicked shit man, this track's awesome. I gotta love that filth bass and all!
Just 100% pure wickedness
